I had hoped to finish in less than two hours. Not a very ambitious goal. I was on track until the last four miles when I crashed. I got pretty dehydrated even though I emptied a small camelback and took water at the stations. I ended up finishing at little over 2:12, I think.
Running definitely isn't a natural sport for me. I wonder if I could find a college student in need of some extra cash who would run with me as a pacesetter? I understand that some folks can alter their pace and keep a steady pace easily. That way I could try to research what I need to be doing or maybe use one of the online coaches, then just follow my training buddy. I have a garmin, but I am constantly checking it and trying to readjust. I am easily influenced by music, scenery, etc... Kind of an ADD runner.
I really appreciate all the advice! What a great forum!
