There has been some interest expressed in having some certified 1-Mile courses made available to provide an opportunity to set an Alabama State 1-Mile record here in the Mobile area.
This year's edition (2009) of the Joe Cain Classic 5K will include just such an opportunity. We will have the 1-mile course that is run immediately after the 5K, certified. To be eligible for the State record you will of course have to register for the 1-mile. The 1-mile will still be an event in which we encourage youngsters and anyone else to "Run for Fun!".....the only difference will be that the 1-mile course will be certified thereby providing the opportunity to those who wish to set a State record in their age division at that distance to do so.
