The Gulf Coast Running Club(Miss. Gulf coast) has a 1 mile run at most of their events. They record results and give trophies for the fun run. The age categories are 10-12 and 9 & under, male and female. I don't know if the courses are certified, but it is great fun for the kids. We stumbled upon this earlier this year, and go over there at every opportunity just for the fun run. It is worth the ride.
