I sorta thought (IMO) that it would have been better had the forecast for LIGHT rain been correct. About halfway into the race, the Sun came out full force and combined with the humidity made it very sticky and hot for everyone out there running. Some handle it better than others, and it could have certainly been worse.
As for the lack of Pensacola teams.....I dunno???.....maybe we skeered 'em off? (said with tongue firmly in cheek.) The individual competition was about as stiff as usual, maybe missing a few "regulars"...... I was wondering the same thing about the Women's NWFTC team, I don't know what the issue was. I was also wondering the whereabouts of the NWFTC Men's team. I know they were supposed to field a team because I "spoke" with a member of their team a few days before the race and we were definitely looking forward to competing against them since they always put a strong team in this race.
