When I was in high school, I often ran the morning runs on the cross country course without my shoes. It was great to run without shoes, and I agree, I believe my feet were stronger because of it. Since I often ran home on the roads about 2 miles after practice, it was MUCH better running home with dry shoes instead of wet ones.
