Arthur in the knees

I need prayers, guidance, counciling, recommendations or something and I would love someone to help.
Seems arthritis has gotten the better of me in the knees. I have already entered the Mardi Gras 1/2, but recently experienced about 2 wks of limbing due to the dreaded "Arthur".
I'm 55, speed isn't the issue with me.....but the peace,tranquility and longivity of running is....
So do I opt for the NSAIDS for the rest of my life, cortisone, arthroscopic knee surgery [which I've read doesn't work well] or what.
