Wow! I read it twice and got goosebumbs both times. Congratulations again on one heck of a fine effort! I'm always struck when tough athletes like you say anything that sounds like we had anything in common as competitors --- what I mean is, I always had a relatively weak and lazy mind and had to trick it in any number of ways to keep that voice inside my head from dwelling on negative talk during hard workouts or races. It always surprises me that anyone else should have such thoughts too. Maybe its more human than I used to think. Anyway, I bet that time from 2:59:00 to your finish was a blur for sure! What a great race and what a great story!! Thanks for sharing it, and enjoy the Victor-y!
