If you have participated in the JRL in previous years, you know that we strive to have nice awards that are different from what other races offer. Here's a blurb from the press release on some new awards that are being added this year:
Unique awards this year include hand carved Tagua pieces designed and commissioned by Paul and Flor on their last trip to Ecuador. Overall winners (men and women) of the 10K and the 5K will receive these. Tagua, known as vegetable ivory, has the same look and consistency as ivory but is derived from a palm nut, which is plentiful in Ecuador. Other awards are the popular Tervis Tumblers with the Race logo.
