Joey, I know I've never had a back problem as bad as yours but I have had back problems for a long time. About four years ago I started limp hanging from my chinning bar for 45 seconds to a minute and a half. I haven't had any back problems since, it takes pressure off the disks. It also improved my posture.
Kent Welsh mentioned to me that I should be careful about getting rotor cuff problems from hanging and told me that they have a machine that allows you to hang upside down and for much longer than I can with a chinning bar.
It might be that your leg problem may be caused by your disk problem, a pinched nerve.
