The Miles for Medicine 5K is set for 7 a.m. Saturday at the University of South Alabama's intramural fields.
Sponsored by USA Physician Assistant Students, the event donates its proceeds to fund children's cancer research at Nemours Children's Health System.
The event also has a 1-mile fun run.
Runners can register at McCoy Outdoor and Run-N-Tri in Mobile and Running Wild in Fairhope until noon Thursday or online until midnight Thursday. Race-day registration will be held from 6:15 to 6:45 a.m. at the SGA Pavilion.
Food, beverages and family-fun activities will be provided after the race.
The Bobcat 5K is set for Theodore High School at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Organized by Santa's Helpers, the event benefits the softball and baseball programs at Theodore High School.
