The sixth annual GO Run 5K will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday at the University of South Alabama. There's also a 1-mile fun run.
Organized by the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute and Little Red Hen Productions, the event benefits USA MCI-Gynecologic Cancer Research.
Runners can register at McCoy Outdoor and Run-N-Tri in Mobile and Running Wild in Fairhope until noon Thursday or online until midnight Thursday. Race-day registration will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Mitchell Center.
Food and beverages will be provided before and after the race. Activities at the race site will include live music by Jukebox Superhero and a kids' zone.
The Happy Feet Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Eastern Shore Center in Spanish Fort.
The event benefits the Proverbs 3:5 Foundation, which aids hospitalized children and their families.
Walkers can register online through midnight Thursday. Day-of-event registration will be held from 7 to 7:45 a.m. at the Eastern Shore Center.
The Y Get Dirty Mud Run at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve in Foley on Saturday features two obstacle courses - one a 5K and the other 4.5 miles long, with the latter course containing more difficult obstacles. Runners will go off in waves every 15 minutes from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., with a one-half-hour gap on each course.
The John McClure Snook Family YMCA in Foley and the Bounds Family YMCA in Daphne are holding the mud run. The event benefits the Y Campaign for Youth and Families.
Participants must be at least 16 years old.

Food and entertainment will be available after the event, and childcare will be available during it at the John McClure Snook Family YMCA for $20 per child from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Tunnel to Towers Run will be held at 8 a.m. Sunday. The 5K will start at USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park and end on Dauphin Street near Bienville Square in downtown Mobile. The accompanying 1-mile fun run will start at Government and Conception streets.
The race benefits the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a memorial to New York firefighter Stephen Siller, who lost his life in 9/11. It's part of a series of tunnel to tower runs across the country that serve as memorials to the firefighters who died in 9/11 and raise funds for firefighter programs, including the New York City Firefighter Burn Center Foundation.

After the race, there will be food, beverages and music with the awards ceremony in Bienville Square.
