The 12th annual Heart of Champions 5K will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, starting near the Bay Minette City Pool. The race had been scheduled for last week, but it was moved to a new date because of the approach of Tropical Storm Karen.
The event benefits the North Baldwin Council on Aging and North Baldwin White Christmas.
Runners can register at North Baldwin Fitness Center in Bay Minette and online until 2 a.m. Thursday.
The postrace party will include Chick-fil-A sandwiches, Pizza Hut pizza, baked goods from Panera Bread and Publix, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, Starbucks coffee, Milo's tea, Pepsi products and fruit. There'll also be door prizes.
The National Shrimp Festival 10K and 5K will be held Saturday at the Orange Beach Sportsplex. The 10K starts at 8 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30.
The event benefits Coastal Baldwin Education Enrichment, which assists public schools in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.
Runners can register online through midnight Wednesday.
The Color Run - a 5K event in which the competitors are doused with colored corn starch - will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Mobile Civic Center.
The event benefits the North Mobile Family YMCA.
