The Miles for Medicine 5K will be held at 7 a.m. Saturday, May 31, on the intramural fields at the University of South Alabama. The event also will include a 1-mile fun run.
Sponsored by the USA physician assistant students, the event benefits children's cancer research and treatment at Nemours Children's Health System.
Runners can register at McCoy Outdoor and Run-N-Tri in Mobile and Running Wild in Fairhope until noon Thursday or online until midnight Thursday. Race-day registration will be held from 6:15 to 6:45 a.m. at SGA Pavilion.
Food and beverages will be provided and family activities will be available after the race.
The 10th annual Springhill Medical Center Grandman Triathlon will be held at 7 a.m. Saturday in Fairhope.
The event benefits Mobile Baykeeper, Gulf Coast Area Triathletes and Camp Rap-A-Hope.
The triathlon includes a one-third-mile swim in Mobile Bay starting from Fairhope Municipal Pier, an 18-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run.
Participants can register online for the USA Triathlon-sanctioned event.
The Bryant High Hurricane 5K Run will be held at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Alma Bryant High School in Irvington. The event also has a 1-mile fun run.
The event benefits the Alma Bryant High School cheerleading squad.

The Jubilee Kids Triathlon will be held at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, June 1, in Fairhope.
For youngsters 11 to 15 years old, the triathlon includes a 150-yard swim in Mobile Bay, a 3-mile bike ride and a 1-mile run. For youngsters 7 to 10 years old, the triathlon includes a 75-yard swim in Mobile Bay, a 1-mile bike ride and a half-mile run.
Participants can register online for the USA Triathlon-sanctioned event.
The Via Bolt 5K Run will be held at 7:30 a.m. June 7 at the Via Health Fitness and Enrichment Center at 1717 Dauphin St. in Mobile. The event includes a 1-mile fun run.
The event benefits senior citizens services at Via Health Fitness and Enrichment Center.
Runners can register online until midnight June 5. Race-day registration will be held from 6:30 to 7 a.m. at Via Health Fitness and Enrichment Center.
Food and beverages will be available and music will be part of the postrace activities.
