On Tuesday Sept 23rd, as well as Sept 29th, The Alabama Department of Transportation will be conducting meetings about the bridge over the Mobile River. These two meetings are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT because they will formulate the overall proposal of what type of bridge the ALDOT will design. Subject matter, as I understand it, will discuss Environmental Impact studies, tolls, and whether the PUBLIC WANTS A PEDESTRIAN/BIKE WALKWAY or thinks it's important. Maps will be displayed and a presentation will take place around 5:30PM at both meetings. ALDOT will be on hand from 4-8PM.
Tues Sept 23rd meeting will take place at the Alabama Cruise Terminal. Monday the 29th will be at 5 Rivers on the causeway.
If you are a runner, walker, or cyclist, don't leave it for someone else to do the speaking or represent you! Show ALDOT you care about access to the causeway.
Please don't leave it to chance that someone else will show up to represent the desire for us runners, walkers, and bicyclist. What a let down it'd be if no one shows to ask for support for the walkway! The ALDOT says Numbers Count! Be there.
