The Hurricane Run brought out an issue that the folks at registration and data entry have had at the races. For Pacers races, registration cut off is 30 minutes prior to the race. This is on all applications. It is because we must have time to get all the names, etc. into the computer so you can have the breakdown of age catagories, etc. Also, race permits state when the race must start and unless there is a bonafied excuse, they should start at that time. Since we want as many runners to participate in our races, as well as the ones we support, the following rules have been put in place to ensure we can get the race off on time and hopefully get the late arrivals into the system (maybe on time or eventually). THERE WILL BE NO GUARANTEE OF AGE CATAGORY AWARDS FOR LATE ENTRIES. Obviously, if the data makes it into the computer system before the runners make it back to the finish, the info will be there.
At 30 minutes prior to race time, runners not signed
up, either in line or at the table area, will be given
a different nunber sequence that will denote that the
Runner was late. The change in the numbers will let you
enter (rather than be turned away) and run the race. As
in the past, we will make every effort to get your info
into the computer.
If it should not, you may or may not get a shirt
(race director discretion- just as day of sign up),
or an age award. Since the information will be enter
at a later time, you should get the correct
Grand Prix and Corporate Cup points.
The races that we support will be encouraged to follow these same procedures.-Saraland, USA Nature Trail, Santa, Panther Pride, Chase the Badger, and Bulldog Run. If the lines are long on the day of registration, remember we can always use more volunteers or avoid all this and PRE-Register! Thanks for your support in this.
