Drew, Spiridon teams win at McGuire's Prediction 5K

Lisa Drew won the female division of the McGuire's Irish Pub 5K Prediction Run in Pensacola on Saturday. The Spiridon female and male teams won the team competition in the the prediction run that attracted more than 4300 participants.

Drew 40, won with a time of 18 minutes, 20 seconds. She will be competing in her first 10K as a master runner in Saturday's Azalea Trail Run. In the first ATR in 1979, the former Lisa Savell won the female division at the inaugrual race at the the age of 14. Drew went on to win a record six individual cross-country state championships at UMS-Wright before running for the University of Alabama.

Amy Huff of Daphne finished second in 19:06. The remaining Spiridon female members that dominated the team competition were Susan Adams (21:16), Laurie Repoll (21:27), Alice Parker (21:52), and Athena Lopez (24:09).

The Spiridon men's team ran away with the title as Wyman Hamilton of Spanish Fort finished third overall in 16:27, followed by Justin Parker (16:40, 5th overall), Jon Bowie (16:42, 6th overall), Juan Cortes (16:46, 9th overal), Joey Warner (16:56, 12th overall, 1st Master), and Roy Duncan (17:51).

Jon Adams is the founder and coach of the Spiridon running teams.
